Institute of Hotel Management Ahmedabad carried out the Swachchta Action Plan (SAP) activity of creating awareness to Tourists about Sanitation and Cleanliness during a two-day activity at Somnath Temple premises .
The activity was performed by students and staff of IHM Ahmedabad along with Somnath Trust Officials and their public area attendants. The following activities were conducted to sensitize the locals and the pilgrims namely, IHMA nukkad natak with the theme of Swachhta, souvenir distribution, , slogan writing competition, sticker distribution. The shop vendors were specially sensitized at Beach Road and local market areas.

IAM Institute of Hotel Management, Goa
On the occasion of World Tourism Day celebrated on 27th September around the world, IAM organized a Wonders of Goa challenge for the students. It was a unique opportunity to raise awareness about lesser known places in Goa, those hidden from the regular tourists. Students were divided into 7 teams and asked to discover a place and share their experiences through a video presentation.
Students put on their thinking caps and chose amazing places like Salazar lake, Pandava and Buddhist Caves, Udear springs, Betul Fort, Ruins of Nossa Senhora de Saude etc. The presentations were uploaded on the official IAM Page and the best video was selected through online voting.
The first prize was awarded to Chris Goes and his team (photo attached below). Suyash Kamat and Terence Dsilva’s team was awarded the second and third place respectively.

CT University , Punjab : World Tourism Day celebrations
World Tourism Day was celebrated by School of Hotel Management, Airlines and Tourism at CT University. On this occasion students prepared a kaleidoscopic Rangoli presentation which reflected logos of State Tourism Boards of different states of India, has been a centre of attraction. Students also set up stalls where they showed the culture, food and Tourism of respective states and exhibited lavish mouth-watering food stalls from Goa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Assam and other states. Apart from food they also showcased traditional attires of different states. This theme was chosen under the aegis of Paryartan Parv which is an initiative of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
On this occasion Managing Director Mr. Manbir Singh said, such events are endeavours to depict the unity and diversity of India in microcosm, add that it connects people theough the delicacy of palette. Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti appreciated the efforts of the students for bringing together the cultures and cuisines of different states. He congratulated the staff and students for the successful organisation of the event
Head of School of Hotel Management, Airlines and Tourism, Dr. Amit said that students really worked hard and demonstrated excellent team work. He further said such kind of events give students an opportunity to showcase their talent and enhance their skills.

Tourism has experienced continued growth and deeper diversification to become one of the fastest growing sectors in this modern world. “World Tourism Day” is celebrated every year on the 27th of September, with an aim of attracting tourists and spread awareness amongst everybody about tourism. Here, at Jaypee Hotels Training Centre-Agra World Tourism Day was celebrated on the theme of “Tourism And The Digital Transformation” followed by a Panel Discussion on the topic by our dignitaries, Mrs. Renuka Dang (Sr. Dietician at rainbow hospital and President of the gourmet club of Agra) Mr. Rajeev Saxena ( Secretary General Of Tourist Guild, Agra) Mr. Hari Sukumar ( Vice-President Operation- JPA) Dr. Sanjeev Saxena (AGM -learning and development-JPA). Hence, the digitalisation has massively contributed to an increase in the ratio of tourists all over the world and also contributes to the social and political sectors of the world.
IHM CHENNAI – RANKS NO. 1 IN SWACHHATA HI SEWA – YEAR 2017-18
As part of Swachhta Action plan, various activities were conducted to create awareness by cleaning various spots of Chennai and Mahabalipuram. Students and Staff were an integral part of the campaign. IHM Chennai was judged the best Institute in India for taking the campaign with utmost care and doing the best in creating awareness. On 28th September 2018, Principal Shri. S. Rajamohan received the award from Secretary Tourism, Government of India for being the Best IHM in Cleanliness and Monitoring Swachhata Hi Sewa in 2017-18.

FOOD FESTIVAL on “CUISINE OF PATLIPUTRA REGION” organized on occasion of “World Tourism Day” i.e. 27th Sep., 2018 (THURSDAY) by Amity School of Hospitality, Amity University, Lucknow Campus
Amity School of Hospitality, Amity University, Lucknow Campus successfully organized a Theme based FOOD FESTIVAL on “CUISINE OF PATLIPUTRA REGION” on the occasion of “World Tourism Day” observed on 27th Sep., 2018 (THURSDAY) in the Training Restaurant of the Institution.
More than 30 dishes were prepared by the students under the able guidance of faculty members of the Institution.
Shri Jai Narain Singh, IPS, Inspector General Police , UP PAC HQRS, Lucknow was the Chief Guest for the event who attended the same event alongwith his wife MrsRitu Singh.
The event was judged by General Managers, Food and Beverage Service Managers , Human Resource Managers, Training Managers & Executive Chefs (Head of Kitchen Department) of 5 Star deluxe category hotels located in Lucknow like, Hotel Vivanta by Taj, Hotel Hyatt Regency, Hotel Renaissance by Marriott, Hotel Hilton, Hotel Ramada, etc .
Institution also received a Letter of Appreciation issued through the office of Shri Amitabh Gautam, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare ,KrishiBhawan, New Delhi for taking such an initiative and efforts for organizing a Theme based Food Festival on the occasion of World Tourism Day and congratulated the Director & faculty members of the Institution for successfully organizing the same event. Shri Amitabh Gautam also highly appreciated and acknowledged the efforts of students, who under the able guidance of the faculty members planned to prepare and display around 30 dishes of Patliputra region. He recognized their efforts in providing an opportunity to the budding Hotel Management professionals to demonstrate their knowledge and talent in the area of Food Production and Food & Beverage Service enhancing their team learning and leadership abilities and equipping them with the much required competitive edge for a successful career.
Head of Institutions of Amity University, Senior Faculty members of Govt. Institute of Hotel Management, Aliganj, Lucknow, BBD University also attended & appreciated the students and faculty members for successfully organizing the same event.
The event started with the traditional welcome of the invited guests and traditional dance performance given by the students based onPatliputraregion . Guests were then shown by the students about the culture of region of Patliputra through pictures & videos and shown the theme & decoration of the venue done by the students based on theme of Food festival. Guests were then served each dish prepared by the students on the table as per requirement of theme only.
Chief Guest & all the Guests who attended the event greatly acknowledged, recognized and appreciated the Director and faculty members of the Institution for providing such an opportunity and platform to the budding Hotel Management Professionals to demonstrate their knowledge, skills & talent so as to raise their level of confidence and to give them an opportunity to work in a team, leading to enhance learning from each other’s experiences.
The event ended with a Vote of Thanks delivered by the students and felicitation of Chief Guest of the event Shri Jai Narain Singh, IPS, Inspector General Police , UP PAC HQRS, Lucknow by giving Memento through Prof. AnkitChadha, Director of the Institution.
State Institute of hotel Management Siddhpur :“Nukkad Nattak celebrating World Tourism Day”

The students of State Institute of hotel Management Siddhpur performed “Nukkad Natak” on protection of culture and tourism and “Atithi Devo Bhava” to celebrate World Tourism Day on 27th September 2018. 53 students and faculties gathered at three places in Siddhpur at Dental College, Bindu Sarovar and Japlipur. Students positively passed the message of protection of our culture and tourism.
